ADA & Service Animals

Jam Fest welcomes and supports the rights and attendance of all persons with disabilities that rely on the special skills of a trained service animal. What we DO NOT support, nor will tolerate, are pets being misrepresented by their owners as service animals, when in fact they are not. So please, don’t do it. Leave your pet at home. We mean it.

About the venue

  • The walkway to the event has no stairs
  • There are no stairs inside the venue
  • The lawn area and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
  • ADA drop off see map above

Handicapped Parking

There is a limited number of handicapped parking spaces in the area located in front of the main gate, please make sure your DMV placard is visible.

Service Animal Definition:

A ‘service animal’ means “any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the handler’s disability.” Emotional support or comfort animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and therefore are not allowed at Jam Fest.

Service Animal Policies:

For patrons with disabilities who wish to bring their legitimate service animal to Jam Fest, we ask that you review and follow the policies outlined below:

  • Service animals must be accompanied by the handler with the disability at all times.
  • Service animals must be under the control and supervision of their handler at all times.
  • Service animals are not permitted to be left unattended under any circumstances.
  • Handlers are required to be prepared for, and clean-up after, their animals at all times.
  • We reserve the right to remove and/or refuse access to any service animal from the venue if that animal is deemed to be a health or safety threat to festival patrons, staff, or other service animals, or in violation of these policies.
  • All service animals must be credentialed by the Jam Fest staff (see the procedures below).

Service Animal Procedures

All patrons with disabilities attending Jam Fest this year with a service animal will need to have that animal credentialed by Jam Fest staff before entering the main gate. This process will be performed quickly and respectfully by our Accessibility Staff.

What will you need to do? It’s easy. Once you arrive at Jam Fest main gate. staff will speak with you, record your contact information, and provide a collar tag for your service animal. Then you are good to go! Security/Staff will be on the lookout this year for all animals to have a properly credentialed Jam Fest collar tag.

Remember, Service animals are allowed, all other dogs are not! Please email us to assist with any further information or if we can help in any way! info@junelakejamfest.org

You are welcome to bring in outside food and beverages in a small 6-pack size ice chest, but no outside alcohol or glass containers. You may bring in a sealed water bottle but we prefer that you bring in a refillable water bottle and use our Hydration Station.

Lost and Found is located at the main entrance. All personal items must be removed from the  venue at the end of each day. There are also First Aid Kits located at the main entrance, merch  booth and event bar. We have an RN on our volunteer team and the Mono County Paramedics  may be called In the event of any significant health issue.

The Wharf Rat group will have a designated area to gather for those living a life of sobriety. The location will be available on maps at the main gate.

September in the Sierra brings an array of weather from sunny mid 70s °F temperatures, to  rain, hail, thunderstorms, wind, and yes, on a rare occasion, snow. Be sure to pack warm  layers, various jackets for wind, rain, and cool nights, sunscreen, comfortable shoes for all  weather, and of course summer clothing for those hot, sunny days. The festival will proceed, with rain delays and schedule changes possible.

At high altitude, you receive 30% more ultraviolet radiation than at sea level. Sunscreen and  sunglasses are essential. The weather in the mountains, no matter the time of year, can  change quickly. Bring layers of protective clothing for all types of weather. Drink plenty of  water especially on hot days when you are outside and/or exercising to avoid dehydration.  The effects of medications and alcohol at high altitude are magnified, so be sure to consult  your physician on prescriptions.

Single use water bottles are not available for purchase in Mono County, we will have reusable water containers available for purchase at the merch booth and we encourage our attendees  to bring an empty container to the festival for endless refills at our Hydration Station.
