Hot Mountain Dips

Hot Mountain Dips

Jam Fest Appearances  2023

The Hot Mountain Dips dish out blues-rock fusion for the soul. They are kindred spirits to the classic San Francisco music scene with original free-form funkified bluesy grooves similar to the improvisation-heavy bands of the 60s and 70s. Their originals hit with both sincerity and irreverence, tunneling deep in that greasy, loud rock ‘n roll of generations past. It’s the kind of music you could imagine yourself dancing recklessly to by a bonfire, surrendering to the primal energy of the past.

Constantly striving to be atypical, the Dips feature lead vocalist Dennis Mill injecting his hedonistic character into the drums. Dueling guitars and hypnotic bass lines venture through extended periods of improvisation. The harmonica and slide guitar riffs supplied by the renowned Jonny Mojo (Achilles Wheel, Keystone Revisited) mixed with the tones of Steve Zisman heats the dips to new levels. Their debut album is expected in early 2023 and features special guests Pete Grant (Grateful Dead/New Riders of the Purple Sage) and Darby Gould (Big Brother & Holding Co./Jefferson Starship) with the help of Oz Fritz behind the recording console (Primus, Oysterhead, Tom Waits, Buckethead). The arrow is pointing up for Hot Mountain Dips!
