Mountain Sky Trio

Mountain Sky Trio

Mountain Sky Trio is a SoCal-based acoustic jam band with big vocal harmonies and intense jams, playing originals, favorites, and deep cuts from the jam/soul/Americana genres and beyond.

With just one acoustic guitar, a piano, and three voices in perfect harmony, Mountain Sky Trio brings a huge, joyous groove that gets crowds dancing to favorites and rare gems from the jam/soul/Americana realm. Vocalist Tanya Ellis (Lightning Dan and the Crawdads, Strawberry Moon), guitarist Eric Raaen (Lightning Dan and the Crawdads), and keyboardist Ed Lyon (WTFB, Electric Blue) began jamming together in backyard settings during the 2020 slowdown, and discovered the magic of coaxing a near full-band sound and groove from the sparse instrumentation of an acoustic trio. In addition to originals, the band’s ever-expanding repertoire includes songs from Allman Bros., ALO, Trey Anastasio, CSN, Eagles, Aretha Franklin, Jerry Garcia Band, Grateful Dead, John Lennon, Little Feat, Tedeschi-Trucks, and much more. Join us at our live shows and dance to the energy of a vocal trio that challenges the traditional limits of acoustic jamming!
